I have it set where I can see the roster on my site, but how do I make it link to the actual player profiles?

        Hi Kris,
I believe you have told me you figured this one out, but it’s an excellent question, so for others, here’s the man page explaining this. Part of what it says is:

The single player pages can be linked from the names in roster tables as well as the player names and photos in the player galleries. NOTE that these links will not work ‘out of the box’. If you wish to use the single player profiles, simply copy the single-player.php template from the plugin’s /theme-templates directory to your theme’s main directory.

The links are automatically added if the single-player.php template is in your theme’s main directory. Old-timers remember that there used to be a Display Setting for linking from Roster Table or Gallery entries to the single player profiles. That entry has been removed. If the single-player.php template is in the right place, the links are added. If you don’t want links, don’t put the single player page in your theme’s directory.

CAVEAT: I say ‘theme directory’ but if you happen to be using a child theme, the plugin looks at the child theme’s directory.
