Mark,
Until a stats option is available, I am wondering if I created a 2nd “team” for stats and had all of the csv import options be stats from my gamechanger file? For example now I can show number, name, position, height, weight, etc…but all of those can be changed to AVG, Doubles, Triples, HR, RBI’s so as long as my csv import matches those categories I should be able to import stats weekly or whenever I want? I was just wondering if something like this would work before I start playing with it. Thanks for your help earlier!
March 24, 2015 at 8:39 pm #2605Hey Michael,
That should work (I think). You will still want to use the original field names in your CSV import file, then everything should convert fine on the front end. Assuming your site has a Team Roster as well, you will need to specify each and every field label in your shortcode arguments. The single player and taxonomy pages for the ‘stats team’ should be very interesting.Cool idea. Let me know how things turn out.

March 24, 2015 at 10:07 pm #2608How do I get to each team’s specific area to adjust the shortcode arguments? I read that it can be overridden by specific stylesheet rules for specific teams, but where do I find it?
It looks like I will be able to get about 9 categories as B/T will not work as 2 different values. HT and WT are separate on the taxonomy page and together on the single bio page so should be able to use both of those on roster page.
Not sure if I need to do something different as my brother originally set up the roster pages, but this is how it ended up…
We don’t start playing until end of May so this isn’t a priority…just like playing around to see if it will work.
Thanks!

The MSTW Development site has a good example of what you are trying to do. Take a look at the Sample Office Staff on the Team Roster Tables page. You need to go to the page where you add your ‘stats shortcode’ and modify the arguments as shown in the sample above. The man page in on shoalsummitsolutions.com.
Let me know.

That helped a lot and I was able to play around with it and get some stats in there. When I click on the player’s name to go to their bio page all the shortcode field titles I entered go back to their original form. I’m assuming I would need to do something in the players individual post somehow?
I am learning a lot about how this all works so I appreciate it. In the end I think it will be too time consuming to download and adjust the data each time for what I want. I think we are just going to copy and paste an excel sheet to a single page and then have each player’s name go to his own bio page.
Thanks!
MichaelMarch 26, 2015 at 9:10 pm #2617That’s correct. You have to set the labels in the display settings if you want them to appear on the single player profile. If you did that, you would need to set the labels back to want you want on the schedule tables. Pick your poison.
