I took another brief look at this and could not figure out what was happening with the click event. I may have to write some debug code to see what’s going on, but I don’t have time to do that right now. IT’s an interesting problem, but I won’t have any dedicated time to invest on it for awhile.
What I suggest is that starting from the working slider page you add the JavaScript page elements of the home page one-by-one until the slider stops working. If you can tell me what element/JavaScript stops the slider from working that would be very helpful when I can get back to it.
